Do any of us actually intend to end up in collegiate retailing?
I started in department store management right out of college. After a couple years, a friend told me about a job at our undergraduate alma mater. I knew nothing about course materials and that was part of my responsibility as the director of that small store. I can't believe they hired me!
That was more than 30 years ago and I'm still loving collegiate retailing. Some challenges remain the same even after all that time. Clearly other challenges are changing. The constant is service to our campus communities. Another constant is the support of our colleages across the industry.
